Trauma Informed Care

A company committed to seeing brighter futures despite difficult pasts

The Shandy Clinic utilizes a Trauma Informed Care approach with pediatric patients across all disciplines to assist them with aspects of their daily life.

Trauma Informed Care is an organizational structure and treatment framework that involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of trauma. Through the use of Trauma Informed Care, each patient is provided the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe, structured, and encouraging environment

Exposure to trauma during critical developmental times of a child’s life can have a profound impact on a child’s success in their daily life. Complex trauma often results in delayed milestones that go undetected, and instead mask themselves as defiant, disrespectful, forgetful, and difficult behaviors. The Shandy Clinic helps address your child’s social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development areas to help your child become the best they can be, no matter the experiences they have faced.

Therapy Services Include:

  • Individualized Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, and Physical Therapy Sessions
  • Parent Education/ Home Programming
  • Social Skills Groups
  • Self-Regulation Strategies/ Coping Skills
  • Animal Assisted Therapy

**The Shandy Clinic does not currently provide mental health or psychological treatment services. We encourage families to speak with their Primary Care Physician directly for concerns related to mental health and psychological treatments.
